Changing the home page banners

Changing the home page banners. Under Content, select “Homepage Images”. Find the “Body” section. You’ll see the “MAIN BANNER” section. You can expand this block to see more content by dragging here with some browsers. I’ve done that just so we can see more content as we learn.

  2. Under Content, select “Homepage Images”

  3. Find the “Body” section You’ll see the “MAIN BANNER” section

  4. You can expand this block to see more content by dragging here with some browsers. I’ve done that just so we can see more content as we learn.

  5. Notice we have several banners here (but they aren’t all online)

  6. The key is the HTML “Comment Out” tag The idea is we can include comments in the code that won’t be displayed in the website. To start a comment out section, we use <-- and to stop the comment out section we use -->. See all the places we used it to comment out the section different banner titles

  7. We’ve done the same thing by commenting out the buttons not currently in use. The summer banner is currently online so it’s NOT commented out No tag No tag

  8. To take the Summer Banner off and put the Tag Day banner on… Cut the start and stop comment out tags from the Tag Day Banner and paste them before and after the code in the summer banner section No tag No tag Tag Day Banners is online and Summer Banners is commented out. Scroll down the page and Submit

  9. Looks good. Make sure the links work by clicking on the banner

  10. Uploading new banners with updated dates New banners are uploaded through an FTP client life Filezilla Use the same file name so you don’t need to change the code.

  11. Updating Where a Banner Links (the page that opens when you click on it) Where the banner links to when clicked on is managed in the banner area in the map sections. Where the banner links to when clicked on is managed in the banner area in the map sections. The first part of the URL (https://www.sbob.org) is assumed. You only need to enter the part of the URL to the right of this sbob.org. The alt text should also be updated
