  2. Saturn’s Rings • Made of asteroids • Its rings are 169,800 miles wide but amazingly thin.

  3. Saturn’s Moons 1. Saturn has 53 official moons and 9 un-official moons. 2. The most well known moon is Titan. 3. Titan is the second biggest moon in the solar system. 4. Titan is bigger than the planet Mercury.

  4. The Planet 1. In a way Saturn is similar to Jupiter, but it is much smaller. 2. Saturn is the least dense planet in our solar system. 3. It is made up of mostly hydrogen and helium. 4. Because Saturn is such a light weight planet it spins very fast. 5. Saturn is not perfectly round.

  5. Size and Shape • Saturn's internal magnetic field deflects the solar wind, a stream of ionized particles emitted by the Sun, away from its surface, preventing it from interacting directly with its atmosphere and instead creating its own region, called a magnetosphere, composed of a plasma very different from that of the solar wind. The magnetosphere of Saturn is the second largest magnetosphere in the Solar System after that of Jupiter.

  6. Fun Facts • You will weigh more on Saturn. • If you weigh 70 pounds on earth, you will weigh about 82 pounds on Saturn.
