  2. What is Kundalini yoga? • Kundalini yoga is an ancient form of yoga that has been practiced only in the west. • In English, the word “kundalini” means the serpent power. It is the most common Hindu belief within each person. • Kundalini yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual discipline for developing strength. • Practitioners call the Kundalini yoga, the yoga of awareness because they claim that it expands sensory sensitivity. • Kundalini yoga is a mystical practice that was brought to the U.S in the late 1960’s.

What is the history of Kundalini yoga ? • The Kundalini yoga comes from the Kashmir region of India where Hindus worship Lord Shiva. • The history of Kundalini yoga states that, Kundalini yoga has been existed for thousands of years. • In India, the teachings of yoga were restrictive. It was a secret oral tradition pasted on for thousands of years. • Kundalini yoga was established for the process of enlightenment.

  4. Who started kundalini yoga? • The big question is who started yoga? • There was a very special person that made kundalini yoga. That person’s name was called Yogi Bahjan. • In 1969, Yogi found the 3HO (The Healthy, Happy, Holy Organization) to introduce to kundalini for a broader population. • However, Kundalini did not approve. • Yogi Bahjan wanted people to be calm and stay calm. He came to the United States of America to demonstrate his new discovery yoga to create calm for everyone.

How those kundalini yoga help your body? • Practicing Kundalini yoga on a regular basis can make you feel a lot better • Not only it make you feel better, it can help you relax your body. • In Kundalini yoga, meditation is central to all people being able to release their fear and worries. • Doing deep breathes is another way of relaxation • The fresh, clean, air that enters your body goes up into the brain.

What is meditation? • Meditation is a three step process that leads to a state of consciousness that brings serenity, clarity, and bliss. • Meditation refers to any form of a family of practices in which practitioners train their minds or self-induce a mode of consciousness to realize some benefits • Meditation is generally an inwardly oriented, personal practice, which individuals can do by themselves. • Meditation may involve invoking or cultivating a feeling

How did meditation start? • Meditation started at least 4,608 years ago. • Meditation encompasses a variety of meditation techniques to develop mindfulness, concentration, • powers, tranquility, and insight. • The first written histories of any kind of meditation began in Mesopotamia in the 4000 B.C. period(6,000 years ago).

  8. How does meditation help your body? • Meditation has been around for as long as we can all remember. • Meditation can lower your oxygen. • It can assist in decreasing your respiratory rate. • It is also helpful for heart patients • It helps to increase the person’s exercise.

  9. What words do I need to know about Kundalini yoga? • Kriya- exercises and breathing techniques intended to purify and cleanse the body's energy channels. • Prana- energy, Breath, Life force. • Chakra- described by ancient yoga texts, are seven energy centers aligned from the base of the spine to the top of the head.

  10. Try some poses • The back roll: • Bend the knees up to your chest, pressing them with the arms. Then, roll on the spine, inhaling forward and backward. • Baby pose: • Bend forward and place the forehead on the ground, putting pressure into your body. Then, put your arms at your sides, with your palms facing up.
