  2. Personal/Social Standard A Students will acquire the knowledge, attitudes and interpersonal skills to help them understand and respect self and one another. Personal/Social Standard B Students will make decisions, set goals and take necessary action to achieve goals. Personal/Social Standard C Students will understand safety and survival skills. National Standard

  3. PS:A1.5 – Identify and express feelings PS:A2.2 – Respect alternative points of view PS:B1.6 – Know how to apply conflict resolution skills PS:C1.6 – Identify resource people in the school and community, and know how to seek help Student Competency

Five, 5th grade classrooms December 4 – 14 2 lessons per class, for 45 minutes each (total of 10 lessons delivered) Lessons Identify conflict Identify bullying Conflict resolution What to do when you are being bullied or see someone being bullied Respectful versus disrespectful behavior Steps to Respect

  5. What skill did they learn? Pre-Test 45 students (39%) could identify “I" statements Post-Test 64 students (74%) could identify “I” statements This is a 42% increase!

  6. What do they believe? Pre-Test 34 students (30%) strongly believed resolving conflicts respectfully is important Post-Test 46 students (53%) strongly believed resolving conflicts respectfully is important This is a 35% increase!
