    5. 3. BECAUSE SPORT IS IMPORTANT IN OUR CULTURE, STUDENTS SHOULD LEARN SPORT AS THE SUBJECT MATTER IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION 4. SPORTS PARTICIPATION SHOULD BE DEVELOPMENTAL

    6. PRIMARY GOAL OF THE SPORT ED. MODEL To develop a competent, literate, & enthusiastic sportsperson. COMPETENT SPORTSPERSON A knowledgeable game player; can execute game strategies & participate satisfactorily

    7. GOAL CONT. - DEVELOP: LITERATE SPORTSPERSON Understands & values rules, rituals, & traditions of sports, distinguishes between good & bad sport practices

    8. GOAL CONT. - DEVELOP: ENTHUSIASTIC SPORTSPERSON Participates & behaves in ways that preserve, protect, & enhance the sport culture

    9. SPORT ED. OBJECTIVES DEVELOP SKILLS & FITNESS SPECIFIC TO PARTICULAR SPORTS APPRECIATE & BE ABLE TO EXECUTE STRATEGIC PLAY IN SPORTS PARTICIPATE AT AN APPROPRIATE LEVEL
