  6. Why did we do it? • Three reasons…… • Current reports are very 80’s style • SYSPRO 7.0 field sizes • Customization • Also • Word Printing… limited potential.

  7. Architectural considerations • Must work on Windows and UNIX • Uses SYSPRO business objects to derive data – does not target database directly • Uses XML as data transfer mechanism SYSPRO Reporting Services provides future-proof report customization.

Deployment • Deployment managed by installation process • Each client machine has to be updated • An updated runtime will be deployed at the same time • Latest SYSPRO self healing components deployed • SYSPRO 6.0 Issue 010 • Initially between 50-100 reports use SRS • More during Issue 010 weekly ports • SYSPRO 7.0 • All reports use SYSPRO Reporting Services • Support larger field sizes • All Stationery documents (that have Word Printing).
