Roles of CFB Borden / CFSTG • The role of Canadian Forces Base Borden is to provide support services to assigned organizations commensurate with its capability and the requirement of the organization based on its role. • The role of Canadian Forces Support Training Group is to validate, coordinate and deliver to the Canadian Forces all common Support Occupation training. Aboriginal Programs • Aboriginal Youth Programs • Started in Borden in Fall 2008 • Based on already established programs held in Victoria, BC • Black Bear 6 July – 21 August 09; a seven-week Reserve Basic Military Qualification • Pre-Recruit Training Course – November 09; a three-week Introduction to Military Life – no strings attached but may be fast tracked for enrolment Train, Support, Excel

Scope of Operations • $110 million operating budget • $6 million for utilities • $5 million in Payment in Lieu of Taxes (mostly to Essa Township) • $142 million in annual salaries (military and civilians) • 2341 military staff (including Reserves) • 1222 civilian employees • 50 – 100 Contractors • 80 Commissionaires • 1000 - 4000 Students • 2500 Cadet camp staff and Cadets All Figures Approximate Train, Support, Excel

  12. Main Effort – Support Operations • 80% of budget expended on support operations to the Base and its units • Main effort is the provision of trades training to members of the Canadian Forces Train, Support, Excel
