FertilizerQuality Control Objectives • Monitoring/ audit of the quality of the fertilizers • To provide a framework, tools and information so that fertilizer users can assess and manage the environmental risks associated with transport and storage, and for optimal utilisation of fertilisers for better productivity.

  4. Production Units for Fertilisers • Large Units - 64 • Small /medium scale units - 79

  5. Raw Materials for Fertilisers • Domestic production based on indigenous /imported rock phosphate and imported sulphur • Domestic production based on imported intermediates viz; Ammonia and Phosphoric Acid.

  6. Major Imported Fertilisers • Import of finished fertilisers : • Di Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) • Mono Ammonium Phosphate (MAP) • Nitrogen Phosphate Potash (NPK)
