  12. www.surapit.com Indonesia • ในอดีตประชาชนอินโดนีเซียมีอัตราการรู้หนังสือน้อย เกือบ 90% • รัฐบาลซูฮาร์โต มีนโยบายเร่งสร้างโรงเรียน • การส่งเสริมให้คนในประเทศรักการอ่านตั้งแต่ยังเด็ก นิทานภาษาอังกฤษ (จุดเด่นของคนอินโดนิเซีย คือ เก่งภาษาอังกฤษ อ่านเขียนได้ดีพอควร) • ประชาชนชาวอินโดนิเซีย โดยเฉพาะเด็กๆ จะต้องมีโอกาส การเข้าถึงหนังสือ โดยเฉพาะห้องสมุด ร้านหนังสือ โดยเท่าเทียมกัน ลดช่องว่างระหว่างคนรวยกับ คนจน

  13. www.surapit.com Singapore • ห้องสมุดในสิงคโปร์มีส่วนเชื่อมโยงประชาชนเข้าร่วมเป็นชุมชน สร้างความผูกพันอันแข็งแกร่งเข้าด้วยกัน จนส่งผลให้ประเทศสิงคโปร์มีความเข้มแข็ง • ในแต่ละปีมีผู้เข้าใช้ห้องสมุดนับเป็น จำนวน 37 ล้านคน • คนสิงคโปรสนับสนุนให้ครอบครัวใช้เวลาอยู่กับ ลูก หลาน ในห้องสมุดมากขึ้น ทุกกลุ่ม อาทิ วัยรุ่น ค้นคว้าหนังสือ วัยสูงอายุ เป็นที่พักผ่อน อ่านหนังสือเพิ่มภูมิความรู้ • ห้องสมุดในสิงคโปร์จึงมีความปลอดภัย และสะดวกสบายเหมาะกับทุกช่วงวัย

  17. www.surapit.com CLMV • ประเทศลาว เริ่มจัดทำห้องสมุดเคลื่อนที่ การจัดพิมพ์หนังสือเด็ก ห้องอ่านหนังสือในหมู่บ้านประเทศพม่า มีวัฒนธรรมการอ่านหนังสือกันมาก โดยเฉพาะการอ่านหนังสือพิมพ์ การติดตามข่าวสาร และหลังจากเริ่มเปิดประเทศ มีความได้เปรียบทางภาษาอังกฤษอีกด้วย • ประเทศกัมพูชาเริ่มมีการพิมพ์หนังสือที่มีความรู้สมัยใหม่มากขึ้น อาทิ หนังสือเด็ก หนังสือการท่องเที่ยว เป็นต้น
