Early Life • Born March 25, 1934 in Toledo, Ohio • Ruth and Leo Steinem • Traveling Antiques Dealer • Mother had a nervous breakdown • Parents divorced in 1944 • Went to Waite High School in Toledo But graduated from Western High School in Washington D.C. • Went to Smith College • Studied in India for two years after college
