  2. Objectives 1.To create awareness among community leaders about the need to combat child sexual abuse 2. To analyse root causes of child abuse and it's nexus with patriarchy. 3. To draw insights and gather resources from religious tradition and praxis oriented theology to combat child abuse and promote child protection policies. 4. To strategize and create action plans to combat child abuse and implement child protection policies 5. Implement child protection plans

  3. Target group Community and church leaders between Age: 25 - 40 yrs (men and women)

  4. Module 1: Introduction 1. What is child Abuse 2. Different dimensions and dynamics of sexual child abuse 3. Contextual understanding of child abuse 4. Patriarchy and child abuse. 4. Poverty and child sexual abuse.

  5. Module 2: Sex and Sexuality 1. Understanding sex and sexuality. 2. Understanding sex and sexuality from biblical perspective.(justice, peace and child rights).

  6. Module 3: Breaking the silence - telling stories 1. Abuse within family 2. Abuse within Institutions 3. Church and child abuse

  7. Module 4: Strategize, prevention & intervention 1. HOME - educating and creating Awareness at home. - building harmonious relationships - religious perspective on relationships 2. INSTITUTION - awareness creation. - introducing child protection policy - inclusion of sex education in curriculum - gender justice education (male & female)

  8. - education & awareness - counselling/protection/prevention. - mechanisms of child protection(systematic observation and inspection) - importance of networking with NGOs, social groups, government, Civic and legal bodies. 3. CHURCH - education and awareness - re-reading bible from the lens of child human rights - child protection policy implementation - special desk & commission for promotion of child rights

  9. - mission focus in Combating child sexual harrasment, abuse - Sunday school curriculum on spiritual formation and education on deconstructing violence and overcoming violence.

  10. Module 5 : Health, healing, wholeness - trauma counselling for Sexually abused children - legal support and aid facilities - support groups for children and family under abuse.
