Environmental Due Diligence • TWE conducted the environmental work on this project with the assistance of the following groups and contractors: • TRC Mariah, Inc. • Burns & McDonnell, Inc. • Chatman & Associates, Inc. • United States Fish and Wildlife Service • Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks • Kansas Department of Health and Environment • United States Corps of Engineers • Lincoln County, Kansas • Ellsworth County, Kansas

Environmental & Archeological • Environmental Studies conducted for the project: • Threatened and Endangered Species review and Critical Habitat Delineation (2005) • Raptor nest inventories (2005 and 2007) • Prairie Chicken Lek and population counts (2005, 2006, and 2007) • Wetland inventory mapping • Migratory corridor review • Cultural resources review • Paleontological Resources review

Economic Development Benefits Smoky Hills will bring significant economic benefit to central Kansas Over 150 construction jobs – at peak $14 million in local spending during construction Over $ 16 million to county government & local land owners Over $ 8 million in salary & benefits for operations staff
