  2. C-IED Training Initiatives • Initially concentrated on Defensive CIED • Defeat the Device • Protect the Force • Now developing Offensive CIED in support of COIN • Attack the Network • Simulation provides a means of rapidly developing cost-effective complex training capabilities

  3. Attack the Network (AtN) • Develop an understanding of the TTPs that support Counter Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED) operations and allow the enemy system to be understood and attacked. • This is a key objective –successful implementation requires a deep understanding of how to maximise employment of applications and feeds. • The C-IED Information Management (IM)/Information Exploitation (IX) programme aimed to have an AtN capability enabled to Coy level for H15.

Not yet endorsed - reconfigures the ISTAR support and reduces the terminals/ devices iaw direction from LF G6 and CTG. Places ANA back in Ops Room. AtN MST Training Capability • Initial CCD developed for 42 Cdo deploying with 3 Cdo Bde – 2 FOBs (BG and Coy HQ) • Demonstrated within CATT/CAST (virtual) and FTX (live) • Now exploited for all 5 BGs with 20 Bde within CATT and CAST (virtual) – BG HQ + 4x Coy HQ • Now exploited for 20 Bde FTX – up to 6 networked FOB/PB HQs (live) • Permanent Live Capability by Feb 12
