Ashley Day Bid for AD NRHH At No Frills 2009. My Ever Growing NRHH Involvement. I was inducted to the UCSB Chapter of NRHH in the Fall of 08 I wrote a SALT bid which won regionally and have helped write multiple other bids. I have helped my school try to boost OTM submissions.

My Ever Growing NRHH Involvement • I was inducted to the UCSB Chapter of NRHH in the Fall of 08 • I wrote a SALT bid which won regionally and have helped write multiple other bids. • I have helped my school try to boost OTM submissions. • I have been working on the National Advocacy committee organizing a campaign in an attempt to have the National Residence Halls Month (NRHM) recognized by Congress. We worked with the NRHM task force and others. • I currently act as the Community Service Chair in the UCSB NRHH

Common Herbicides That Stunt NRHH Growth • Confusion: Not fully understanding the role of NRHH • Transition: Continual turnover can stunt growth • Commitment: Members may not be committed maybe due to the previous reasons. • Missing Direction: Many Chapters may lack the direction needed to keep their chapter healthy.

  4. Goals To Grow NRHH I want to work with individual schools to set up action plans for growing their NRHH. I want to have sessions of detailed training and discussion of the fundamentals of NRHH (Fun of course!) I want to work with NRHH Reps to help them fully transition to the new OTM database. I want to help NRHH reps lead the way in recognition nationally, by getting them involved in national committees, commissions, and task forces to share their vision for and commitment to recognition.

Goals To Grow NRHH • Work with schools who don’t have an NRHH chapter to help them think through and plan the beginning of their chapter. • Help Chapters with recruitment and retention strategies. • Work with NRHH chapters to help them celebrate the National Residence Halls Month fully and Spring into Service Week. • Work Nationally to extend the NRHH website to provide more resources. • Work to update PACURH Policy Book to reflect the NACURH Policy Book.

Some ways I love to recognize: Through sincere comments By giving a gift By publicly proclaiming their “amazingness” By writing Of The Month Awards Making posters or certificates By expressing appreciation By serving the person who is due recognition And many more…
