  5. Nominal • Data consists of names, labels, or categories only that cannot be arranged. • Yes/No/Undecided • Colors • Names

  6. Ordinal • Data that can be ordered, but the difference between the orders is meaningless. • Ranks of NBA Players for PPG • Course Grades

  7. Interval • Data that can be ordered with the added property that the difference between two values is meaningful. But there is no zero or natural starting point. • Degrees Fahrenheit • Years

  8. Ratio • Data that can be ordered, subtracted, but also divided in a meaningful way, as well as having a natural zero starting point (or the concept of nothing.) • Number of eggs laid by a chicken • Price of a textbook • Heights of students
