  3. Current situation in Haiti • Damage assessment • Leogane: 80-90% destroyed • Carrefour, Gressier: 40-50% destroyed • Jacmel: 50-60% destroyed • 160 NGO-operated sites (fixed and mobile) for primary care

  4. CMMB: emergency response • First 24 hrs: first aid to victims and $200 K in medical donations and cash support • To date: over $15 M in medicine, medical supplies, cash/pledges, and technical support • Facilitated placement of over 235 volunteers • Teaming: Crudem Foundation, Medical Missionaries, BICOL Foundation, Global Health Ministry • Locations: Port-Au-Prince, Milot, Thommassique, Cayes-Jacmel, Chambellan

  5. CMMB: resuming programs • Existing programs • Maternal and child health • HIV/AIDS • Malaria • Long/medium-term volunteers (MVP) • Modifications to address current needs • Partnering with other FBOs • Healing Help (medical donations)

  8. Challenges for FBOs • Infrastructure: clinic-based, shelter, GoH • Coordination • Registration with MoH/GoH

  9. Future directions • Rehabilitation: clinics/hospitals, schools, houses of worship • Defining roles with MoH/GoH • Partnering for effective use of human/financial resources • Creating sustainable programs
