  2. Habitat • Mice live in most parts of the world. • They make nests in warm, quiet places.

  3. Appearance • A mouse is a small animal with soft fur, a pointed snout, round black eyes, rounded ears, and a long thin tail. • Most mice are about six to eight inches long.

  4. Food • Mice will eat almost anything, even glue and soap! • Mice scurry over to their food, put it in there cheeks, go back to their nest, and eat it.

  5. Young • The mother mouse can have babies at any time of year. • There are usually about five or six mice each litter. • There are about 5 to 10 litters each year, and mice can have litters every 20 to 30 days. • The mother takes care of its young.

  6. Threats • Mice have enemies such as people and most meat-eating animals. Cats are best known for mice enemies.

  7. Interesting Facts • Mice are usually brownish-gray or white with a light under coat. • Mice can be house pets, too. • “Mouse” is a common word for many small long-tailed animals with furry bodies. • Mice come in many different species.
