  2. Rational Expressions are basically fractions… • Multiply: 4 · 25 Divide: 20 ÷ 15 5 32 21 7 We use the same concepts with rational expressions, but we have to FACTOR!

  3. To Multiply: • 1. Factor everything in the numerators and the denominators. • 2. Divide out (cancel) any common factors. • 3. Multiply across with what remains.

  4. To Divide: • Just multiply the first fraction by the reciprocal of the 2nd fraction.
