  1. Peer review and editing of 1st Semester position paper Switch Papers. If you do not have your hard copy with you, you need to exchange email addresses with someone else who failed to do so, so you can send each other copies to check over internet and do what we do today tonight at home Use a colored pencil or pen to make grammar corrections and write comments in the margins or between the lines.

  2. Introductory Paragraph • Do they have a Brief explanation of topic that catches your attention or interests you in the topic of the alleged link of vaccinations and autism? • Is there a “Thesis statement” that states their opinion? • Is their opinion clear?

  3. Supporting Paragraph(s) • Do they explain the issue? • Do they CLEARLY explain it? • Do they use APA citation format for all facts they use? (Name year) • If they use quotations from articles, do they cite them properly? (Name year, page #) • Do they clearly describe both sides of the argument/issue • Do they use APA-style citations for the argument points made by both sides of argument

  4. Opinion Paragraph(s) • Do they Clearly state their opinion on the issue? • Do they provide CITED(APA-style) evidence for arguments supporting their point of view? • Do they use more than one argument point or piece of evidence to support their point of view? • Do they provide CITED(APA-style) evidence against arguments contrary to your point of view • Do they use more than one argument point or piece of evidence to refute the opposing point of view?

  5. Concluding Paragraph • Do they restate the original topic sentence/thesis statement? • Do they give a BRIEF summary of strongest supporting arguments for their point of view?

  6. References Cited • Do the HAVE a References Cited or Bibliography section? • Do they use the APA format? • Are all sources listed alphabetically by author’s last name • Are there at least 6 credible sources? • Do they avoid Wikipedia or similarly less credible sources?
