KEY CHALLENGES • Delay in appointment of Project Manager • Appointment of Researcher • Student recruitment was initially low • Problems with equipment – particularly keyboards • Meeting the needs of the students/CTL and Research Team • Students not engaging with the Moodle area • Difficulties in communicating with such a diverse group

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS • All students engaged in project • Lessons learnt will feed into new group • Pocket PCs and portable keyboards issued • Able to include video functionality • Good communication between FE and HE establishment • Development of three Moodle areas: • Student Moodle • Externally facing, Project Moodle • Internal, project management Moodle

  6. RESEARCH FINDINGS • 3 methods of gathering evidence • Interviews now complete: • Usability issues • Pedagogical issues • Ethical Issues • Support being accessed • Security of the device

  7. PROJECT SUSTAINABILITY Early days • Engage with external organisations • Roll out project with other groups • Develop and create e-portfolio activities • Roll out with future students supported by the tutor
