Purposes of Game Developers • To provide a flourishing culture of game development for students of all skill levels • Providing software • Finding teammates and forming projects • Gaining experience • To provide industry contacts, events, and opportunities • Internships, speakers, resume builders (EA) • Social Events

  3. Member Project Presentation • Show off member projects at the beginning of each meeting • Share ideas and encourage one another • Call for artists, programmers, designers • Take it away, Mr. Campbell • If you’re working on a project, share it with us! Email Ben (bbm6f) to get set up with a slot

  4. SGD points system Who wants a Wii? …..and other fabulous prizes

  5. Membership Points • End of the semester raffle! • Prizes include: • Nintendo Wii • Best Buy Gift Cards • etc. • Tickets for the raffle are based on points…

  6. How do I get points? Easy. -showing up to meetings and events -getting new people to join the club -participating in club fund raising events -helping out with advertisements -making games Soo…. the more you participate the better your odds

  7. Membership Dues • Dues can be paid after the meeting – find Scott • $8, or $6 + get a friend to join • Be sure to write your friend’s name when you sign up • After you become a member, create an account on our forums and introduce yourself (required)

  8. Multimedia Fusion Tutorial • A powerful game-development engine for beginners • Let’s make a simple game • Hands-On experimentation • This is also a good time to pay dues with Scott • Let’s do it! But don’t leave…more great announcements afterwards

  9. How to License Multimedia Fusion for your Team • Teams can be assembled by • Simply getting together with friends (Fun) • Pitching an idea / looking for a team on the forums (Most effective) • Talk with Scott or Ben (Not very effective) • Once you have a team together, you can submit a request to license the MMF engine via email • Info will be available on website soon • Torque Engine will be available starting next week

  10. Social Event – Games Day • Fun times for building teams • Who would be interested? • When? Let’s vote. • Wednesday at 7:00pm • Saturday at 2:30pm • Info will come later via email • Ideas for other social events can be suggested on the forums – we’re willing to expend resourced if it’s a fun idea

  11. Game Developers Spring 2007 Compilation Project • Will use Multimedia Fusion • A collection of mini-games for easy division • Ideas are welcome: post on the forum • Theme • Overall design • Art • This and other games will be sold
