  2. Purpose • What is the title of the book ? • Is this book fact or fiction? • How many shapes are discussed in the story? • Where can we find shapes in our world? • What shape is in the beginning of the story? At the end of the story?

  3. A circle is round and has no corners, vertices, or sides.

  4. A trapezoid is a four-sided shape with one pair of parallel sides.

  5. A square is a quadrilateral, with four vertices and corners. All the sides are the same length

  6. A triangle has three sides, corners, and vertices.

  7. A hexagon is a polygon with six sides, corners, and vertices.

  8. A rectangle has four sides, corners, and vertices. The opposite sides are the same length.

  9. Shapes are all around us. See how many of these shapes you can find!
