  3. Aims of the day: • To introduce the new TESOL resources • To become familiar with some of the resources • To consider how the resources support SQA TESOL Centres and Candidates • To provide further info on SQA TESOL qualifications.

  4. Adult ESOL Strategy aspiration: ‘ a fully professional workforce with recognised career structures’ ‘ESOL practitioners need to show knowledge, technical competence, and expertise at a level consistent with effective programme delivery.’

  5. Project principles • All ESOL learners should have access to a positive, quality learning experience • Expertise of ESOL practitioners has a direct impact on this experience • Practitioners need to gain (T)ESOL specific knowledge and skills

PDA in Applied Practitioner Studies in TESOL(SCQF level 10) • 4 additional Units: • English Language Analysis for TESOL (10) • ESOL Assessment and the Scottish Framework (9) • Teaching ESOL Literacies to Adults (9) • ESOL Syllabus Design (9) • Builds on PDA in TESOL knowledge and skills • Free standing Units • Validated as a Group Award – May 2011 • Piloted at Clydebank, Anniesland and • Stevenson College.
