  1. Graphing on a coordinate plane

  2. Watch this step-by-step tutorial on how to read ordered pairs. • Study Jams- Ordered Pairs

  3. A coordinate plane is formed by two perpendicular lines called axes, that lie in a plane. A coordinate plane is formed by two perpendicular lines called axes, that lie in the plane.

  4. The Vertical Axis Is the Y-axis The horizontal axis is the x-axis

  5. Y- axis X - axis An ordered pair is….

  6. Y- axis X -axis To find the ordered pair for a point, we go across the x-axis and up the y- axis. For Point D: we go over 3 spaces and up 1 space the ordered pair would be (3, 1) (x, y)

  7. When plotting a point, just think of the alphabet. X comes before Y, which is true about the ordered pairs…. (x, y) (across, up)

  8. What point can be found at (1,3) ? Point A is correct!!!

  9. Practice with Coordinate Plane • Let’s do some practice problems on-line • Individual Practice/HW: WB 149 #1-12

  10. Day 2 – Length of Line Segments 1- Watch video Distance Between Two Points 2- Continue ppt 3- In-class Probe on screen (code provided) 4- Continue working on study guide– due tomorrow

  11. How long is the line segment from the heart to the triangle?

  12. Check out these practice problems. Log-in to take a probe and use the following code. PZSA292135
