  2. Characters • The main character in the book, is Georgie. Georgie is the shortest kid in 4th grade. He is only 42 inches tall. But the saddest thing about Georgie is that he is a dwarf. • Andy is Georgie’s best friend in the world. Georgie and Andy even made a dog walking business. But Georgie can only walk the smaller dogs, like poodles. • Jeanie is in Georgie’s class. Andy and Georgie call Jeanie… Jeanie the Meanie, because she always picks on Georgie. • Russ is Andy’s new friend that has blonde blonde hair. Georgie doesn’t like Russ at all because he thinks he is stealing Andy a way from him.

  4. Plot The Thing about Georgie starts ,when Andy invites Russ into Georgie and Andy’s dog walking business. Andy likes Russ a lot, because he thinks that he is a great person. But Georgie doesn’t like Russ at all, because he thinks that Russ is stealing Andy away from him. The school play is coming up, and Georgie and Jeanie the Meanie are both assigned to Abraham Lincoln, to find out facts about him together. Georgie is having a tough time with that because Jeanie will not cooperate. At home things are a little tough for Georgie too, because Georgie’s mom is having another baby, and Georgie thinks when the baby reaches 3-years old that she or he will be taller than him. Later on in the story, Jeanie makes Georgie look like the best president in the play. They also become really good friends. After a long fight with Andy, about Russ, they decided that Russ can join the dog walking business and that Andy and Georgie can be friends again.

  5. Lily’s Opinion • I liked the book because it talks about Georgie, having some tough times, but it also talks about him surviving them. - I recommend The Thing About Georgie because, it is a very funny, hilarious book.
