  1. Different Types of Inks for Large Format Printers  Technological advancements in ink are a massively important factor to consider when             choosing a large format printer, as the cost of inks can be substantial in the printing               process. The number of applications for large format graphics has grown tremendously in             the past few years, and print manufacturers and print providers have kept the demand on               ink manufacturers to develop new formulations that enhance excellence, stability,           performance and price.                                                                        We’ve listed below the different types of large format inks for large format printers:  Solvent Inks: Solvent inks contain pigments rather than dyes, and are not water based.           Solvent inks are a fairly economical large format printer ink option and are ideal for printing               on non-coated, flexible vinyl substrates like vehicle graphics and banners. Because the core             components of solvent inks are volatile organic compounds (VOC’s), they provide             exceptional UV light stability but require good ventilation to avoid the VOC’s they emit.                                                              Aqueous Inks: As the name implies, aqueous ink refers to ink that is water colorant based.             This type ink comes in two forms:                      Dye inks -  Dye inks are formulated for the highest color saturation and brightness. A very small               amount is needed to create detailed images with vibrant, smooth tones. Dye inks are best               suited for indoor use for print projects that require high image quality and vibrant colors.                 The ink is water soluble and will fade in UV light.                                              Pigment (UV) Inks -  When exposed to UV light, this ink is more stable, making it a perfect choice for window                   displays. These inks offer an archival print life, and will last longer when laminated or               treated with a UV spray protector.                                  Dye Sublimation inks: There are two types of dye sublimation links found on the market.               Aqueous dye sublimation ink is the most popular and can be used for both desktop and               larger format printers. The other is a solvent dye sublimation ink that can be used in Spectra                 and Konica print head large format printers only.

  2. Latex Inks: The newest and most versatile in ink technology, Latex inks are water based,               eco friendly, water soluble and odorless. They deliver dynamic, vibrant and stunning images             that last almost indefinitely, and aren’t as likely to fade or flake. They are non-flammable               and non-combustible and do not contain hazardous air pollutants.                                                UV cured Inks: This type of ink falls into the more expensive category, but the list of                   applications it can be used for is quite extensive. Thanks to UV curing, the ink is dry as soon                 as it is cured, resulting in print projects that are water resistant with vibrant colors.                                         Bink Inks provides American manufactured high-quality digital printing inks at competitive           prices in order to deliver the best value to our customers.
