  3. Characteristics of Gamma Rays • Wavelength: less than 1 mm (millimeter) • Frequency: 1019 (10,000,000,000,000,000,000) • Energy used: very high amounts of radiation given off- so much that it can cause explosions in space

  4. Examples of Gamma Rays • Treat cancer cells- kills off cells with radiation • Given off during nuclear explosions • Black holes/Star explosions
