Client Total Terminals International LLC Industry Transportation Engagement Scope Migrate from on-premise Oracle EBS11i to Oracle Cloud Financials About the Client Total Terminals International LLC (TTI) is a leading full service marine terminal and stevedore operator headquartered at Long Beach and operating out of two facilities in Long Beach and Seattle.

  3. Business Requirement Total Terminals International (TTI) was experiencing phenomenal business growth which was not backed by the requisite functionality in their existing IT environment. TTI was working on Oracle EBS11i which was nearing end of support. They were contemplating a migration to either Oracle R12 on-premise model or Oracle Fusion Cloud to streamline their business processes and augment their future acquisition and expansion plans. TTI needed more clarity on which model expansion plans. TTI needed more clarity on which model would be beneficial for their business. The overall financial process had become redundant which necessitated an upgrade and update. TTI also required reports with deep insights projecting their growth trajectory.

  4. Business Challenge TTI’s employees were working on the EBS environment for a long period of time and were highly accustomed to it. The migration to Oracle R12 on-premise model or Oracle Fusion Cloud entailed moving to an unchartered territory and a change in the working environment. If they moved to Oracle R12, there will also be the need for a significant investment attributing to the subsequent upgrades. Due to the heavy operational dependency on the EBS environment, Oracle R12 on-premise model or Oracle Fusion Cloud environment, Oracle R12 on-premise model or Oracle Fusion Cloud was to be implemented and tested for a short period of time while still operating on the current EBS system. The TTI team was to be trained on the differences between the systems while they were still on EBS. TTI was looking to structurally modify and increase the segments of their existing Charts of Accounts (CoA), which involved significant amount of downstream configuration changes. The existing CoA was not fully functional and they wanted to remap their existing CoA was not fully functional and they wanted to remap their accounts and its corresponding descriptions. It included putting in place an engagement framework that helped in gaining support from the Executive Management and the Finance team.   5. Requirement Analysis Jade Global experts worked with TTI to understand their IT ecosystem and explained the upgrade situation to them. Jade suggested an upgrade to Oracle Fusion Cloud because of the distinct advantages of Oracle Fusion Cloud that includes cost savings of upto 30% and scalability as per business demands. Jade’s experts calculated the 5 year TCO factoring the upgrade cost and devised the approach to migrate to the Cloud. Engagement Framework Design TTI had a small IT team of 4 people, compared to the large size of the company. They were heavily dependent on the Jade application support team to communicate with Oracle representatives. Being such a big company, the client found it very difficult to get through to Oracle, communicate, receive and then follow up. Jade developers facilitated the conversation with Oracle on behalf of the client, and dealt with the Oracle service requests against product bugs. They directly communicated with the against product bugs. Jade also involved the client’s employees for Conference Room Pilot and User Acceptance Testing to get them used to the functionalities of Oracle Fusion Cloud.

  6. Client Team Enablement on Oracle Cloud As part of Jade Global’s engagement, the client’s team was cross-trained on Oracle Cloud. The primary training program included demos on Oracle Cloud and conversion process, sessions on Oracle Cloud, and knowledge transfer on the Oracle Cloud functionalities. Jade Global’s experts also supported the technical team post deployment until the in-house technical team was comfortable with the newly adopted IT environment. Business Value Delivered Jade Global’s implementation of Oracle Cloud helped the client reduce the overall Oracle license and maintenance cost by over 30%. Implementation of Oracle Fusion Cloud made the working environment more versatile by allowing more module integration. The client’s operational efficiency increased to a great extent due to the superior UI of Fusion Cloud compared to EBS.
