Context of research in high school classroom • This activity was applied in a public school in the city of Teresina - Piaui - Brazil. 85% of mobile students didn’t have wi-fi or internet in mobile phone. So, we download of Jessie J’ videoclip called "Price Tag" and processed it in 3pg format for mobile technology. Then, the clip was sended by bluetooth to mobile students.

  3. Methodology Activity • Site of You Tube : Price Tag http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMxX-QOV9tI • See video and answer the questions of the activity; • See the analyze the answers of the student; • See some statements of the students about how the mobile phone helped the answers this critical activity.

  4. Videoclip is a multimodal text • This kind of text the meaning is communicated through a synchronization modes. The synchronous operationof the picture modes, motion, color, gesture, objects, music and sound....

  5. Activity - 1 1.What was the author’s purpose in begining this clip with these images? Use evidence from the text and your ideas to support your answer.

  6. Activity - 2 2 .What kind of proverb or expression that refers to this image? And in what situation is regarded in our real life?

  7. Activity - 3 3 - In our society, there are certain prejudices and / or differences in our daily lives. See the images, mention the differences that explores the videoclip (and discuss with classmate about these pictures).

  8. Activity - 4 4.What kind of message that the author wanted to convey with these images? And to whom was addressed?

  9. Activity - 5 5. What kind of proverb or expression that refers to this image? And in what situation is regarded in our real life?

  10. Student’s answer -1 • The student said: Adults are blinded by money and very consumerist getting "broken in their accounts” Therefore, beside the child, the bear is gay, and next to the adult, the bear is blind, sad and amputated.

  11. Student’s answer -2 • The student said: Money does not grow on trees. It is usually used when someone asks for money and that person does not have it. Then one uses the phrase to emphasize that it is difficult “to make” money. My mom says that when I ask money for her.

  12. Student’s answer -3 • The student said: The videoclip criticizes the differences observed in our present life: girl plays with doll and boy with car and soldiers. The feminine color is pink, and the male is blue.

  13. Student’s answer -4 • The student said: • The author makes a plea for people to give less importance to consumerism, getting rid of expensive tag.

  14. Student’s answer -5 • The student said: The toy is called "Marionette". It has a meaning to criticize a person who want to manipulate another person. And in this picture the author thinks that man who manipulates ... the blue color of the image.

  15. How the cellphone helped in this activity?

  16. Some statement of the students 1 • “It is impossible to do this activity without the mobile phone. The phone with the headset, gave me the opportunity to analyze the videos several times without disturbing the other friends inside or outside the classroom”. (Student 40). • “To analyze critically, it was necessary to watch the video many times, then the help of the mobile phone was important. Also to see the colorful music video ... the copy of the school is not color, then the mobile phone helped about it”.(Student 73).

  17. Some statement of the students 2 • “Because everyone wants to see and analyze different images, so it is better to have on your mobile phone, because the technology is individual and particular.” (Student 12). • “I heard many time the clip and learned the music and helped improve my pronunciation of some words in English”. ( Student 27)

  18. Research is in progress... • Can the critical visual literacy and mobile learning improve language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking in the teaching English as a foreign language?
