  4. Shi Huangdi builds a strong Empire • Created a Harsh Legal System • Rulers governed through force • Book burnings and suppressed criticism • Massive building programs • Great wall of China

  5. The Fall of the Qin • Anger from the common people and the peasants • The peasants rebelled and overtook the government • This was the beginning of the Han Dynasty

The Han Dynasty • Leader Liu Bang started the Han Dynasty • Reversed the harsh rule of the Qin • Emperor Wudi increased China’s wealth • Increased Warfare (to gain territory) • Civil Service • Defended against the Xiongnu • Colonized parts of Korea, Vietnam and Manchuria • Social Problems created Warfare that destroyed the Han Dynasty
