  1. EATM, EACM organisation Lau Gatignon EATM meeting 29 January 2019

  2. From the EATM mandate: • From EATM mandate:The EATMorganizes and coordinates design, exploitation, consolidation and upgrade activities of the secondary beams and experimental areas, attached to the LHC Injectors and follows their status……..The EATM will regularly collect information from specific projects that build new areas or new facilities in order to coordinate the resources and verify that they are compatible within the accelerator and experimental areas schedule….. • The EATM reports regularly to IEFC and organises preparation work and studies requested by the IEFC. This is in particular the case in the framework of the approval procedure of new experiments, where the cost, resources and feasibility must be evaluated.

  3. Specific responsibilities • Coordination and follow-up of the beam line and area modification work according to needs of the yearly physics program, driven by the requirements and the needs of the users. It steers the execution of the physics program as defined by the scientific committees and the physics coordinator. • The EATM also coordinates the setting up and readiness of the beam lines with the Operations Group. • Follow-up of installation work for the experiments and liaison with beam and services. • The EATM discusses and formalizes interlock system modifications resulting from area reconfigurations. The EATM discusses and makes scientific, engineering and technical decisions and makes requests to the equipment, control and service groups involved. • Follow-up of safety aspects related to the operation of the experimental areas, in particular for irradiation facilities. • Coordination of the consolidation and renovation projects for the secondary beams and experimental areas. • The groups involved will be represented in the EATM meetings by qualified members so that decisions can be taken whenever appropriate.

  4. What now? • Now we enter LS2Part of these EATM tasks remain, bit some are on hold for more than 2 years.Hence less frequent EATM meetings.Typically a meeting every 6 weeks. • Other needs arise: coordination of shutdown works.Important role for EACM, chaired by François Butin. • Participants have partial overlap, hence try to synchronise the dates.
