  3. What’s That guy actually suppose to do? • Provide advice and assistance to senior managers on IT acquisition and management (provide advice on IT stuff to those less enlightened) • 2. Develop, maintain, and facilitate implementation of a sound and integrated IT architecture (in charge of actually taking care of all the IT structure they’ve set up) • 3. Promote effective and efficient design and operation of all major IRM (Information Rights Management) processes for the agency, including improvements to work processes. (also in charge of security related stuff) • Chief Information Security Officer

  4. This guy ≠ that guy • Chief Information Officer isn’t just • another name for Chief Technology • Officer • To grossly oversimplify, • CIO: large scale organizational problems • CTO: technical problems
