Understanding the Basics Before delving into interpretation, it’s essential to grasp the basics of CBCT scan technology. Unlike traditional two-dimensional dental X-rays, CBCT scans produce 3D dental scan images by rotating an X-ray source around the patient’s head. This process generates a series of 2D images that are then reconstructed into a 3D volume.
