  1. Retail Displays&Visual Merchandising

  2. Visual Merchandising In considering the importance of visual merchandising on retail businesses the single and most important reason is to engage and inspire shoppers, to encourage them to buy more of the products you want them to, increasing your sales, margin and return on space – after all, you are running a business! That engagement process of course starts even before they have set foot in your store…

  3. Impressions • First impressions count! • The saying goes “never judge a book by its cover” – well this is simply not the case in retail; we always judge a book by its cover. • First impressions are vital, stand out and fight the fight, or blend in and blend out

  4. Be Aware! • Avoid overwhelming the consumer • Give the consumer confidence • Minimum Investment – Maximum Impact

  5. Avoid Overwhelming the Consumer • Range proliferation is critical • Floor space analysis • Focus on profitable merchandise • Hold minimal stock • Display cabinets should contain minimal products and be well lit

  6. Give the Consumer Confidence • Signage must be clear and concise • Simple and inline with store branding • Be creative with styles, products and displays • Synergy and consistency go along way

  7. Minimum Investment – Maximum Impact • Clean, tidy and efficient store layout • Adequate space for multiple consumers • Adequate lighting • Use sensory ques , such as smells, sounds (music)
