Turn Off Your Automatic Negative Pathways “We can be very sloppy and careless about what we allow to oppress/depress us.  Even a series of little things can be oppressive if they are cumulative, and that’s usually what gets us.  We are generally pretty good at handling the big stressors in life. We are not so good at handling cumulative smaller ones as we let them grind us, unless we learn to sort out two things:  (1) Our response to these stressors and (2) The reservoir of positivity we build to deal with negativity.” Dr. William Larkin on Building NeuroPositivity

How to Choose? “Our neuro-positive response to stressors can be simple, if we have learned it and it is wired-in.  Get to a positive feeling place, if only a slight shift.Go to a strength and ask your strength, “How do I manage this from my strength?”  Just asking the questions increases the shift, because the strength can begin to talk to you, but only if you get out of a negative place. Only if you make a slight shift to a positive place.” Dr. Larkin

Tell us what you need • Use “I” words • Neutral words • Avoid putting others on the defensive • Options, solutions, possibilities … • It would help me if… • I’d appreciate it if… • We might want to try… • It works better when… • It’s difficult when… • I need… • Here’s a thought… • Let’s see what we can do…
