  3. Helpdesk Objectives • Face of IT: First point of contact! • Solve as many problems over the phone as possible. • Direct problem reports to appropriate action centers.

  4. Before calling the Helpdesk • Visit the helpdesk knowledge base at http://www.marist.edu/it/clientservices/helpdesk/kb.html for solutions to common problems and troubleshooting suggestions • If it is for a computer or printer problem have your tag# ready • For SIS, FRS, HRS, TSO problems have your operator number ready and job# for batch jobs.
