  1. WattDog WattView PanelDog Hoyt Monitor Technologies presents The Dog Meters

  2. WHAT IS A WATTDOG? ANSWER: • An AC measuring meter with a deep level of intelligence that displays and records all parameters relevant to AC Power measurements • A GRAPHICAL colored LCD with TOUCH SCREEN control • Full Duplex Communication Ports • Software for the creation of an Executive Summary Report • Optional Software for on site configuration

  3. Display Information Wire Configuration Local Time and Date Active Lines Instantaneous Watts Voltage per Phase Cumulative Power Approximate cost Approx. Active Rate for period measured

  4. More Display Information Meter Set up and Memory details Toggle through installed screens Setup Graph details Configure Logging Time and Dates

  5. SECONDARY DISPLAY OPTIONS • Many times users want different parameters displayed • WattDog will accommodate this requirement • A wide range of screens are available to the viewer • A few of the choices available are being shown • Use your imagination and create your own

  6. Display Description / Advantages KWh / Phase • Thisdisplay shows: • Amperes per Phase • Advantage: Any significant load unbalance is seen • KWh per Phase • Advantage: Shows loading which can translate to cost • Power Factor • Advantage: See the PF of the load per phase • A poor Power Factor will impact the overall cost Amps / Phase PF / Phase

  7. Display Description • KWh • Cost per Phase • Peak Watts • This information is useful in scheduling a machine in a process • Seeing the energy per phase and the cost • LoadAnomalies can be seen leading to an investigation of a potential problem Any parameter can be displayed as an independent value on a separate screen

  8. Display Description Users sometimes prefer to see Graphic representations of certain parameters A Graph is an instant view of a series of measurements taken over a period of time By including this facility within the meter, it allows a user to view parameters without opening a computer and searching a file

  9. Sometimes Simplicity is all that is needed Wire Configuration Local Time and Date Active Lines Accumulated KWh since start Voltage per Phase This screen is showing KWh only Start Time and the Start Date is displayed. These parameters might be different for the local time and date Touch Screen can be Disabled to prevent access Time and Date logging started

  10. Sometimes, Simplicity still requires additional information Total KW per tariff period The Demand Period breakdown Cost for each period Historical data is always valuable These screens are user selected at time of configuration If not selected at initial configuration they can be added in the field with a firmware upgrade

  11. Limited Fault Detection capability Single Phase 3 Lines Note this image is labeled 1P 3L. 1P3L This configuration allows the user to look at 3 branch circuits on the same phase. Using a DC Version of the meter and the HMT Multiplexer module the viewer can view multiple branch circuits using one meter Error indications The meter is pre-configured for the wiring requirements of the application If the meter detects a voltage on the applicable inputs then the lighted dots will appear Green If one line or multiple lines do not have a voltage present, the illuminated Dots will show as RED and flash

  12. Typical Panel installation CT’s can be Split Core of Solid Core types The installer has a choice of using Split Core CT’s or Solid Core CT’s For higher accuracies use Solid Core CT’s Voltage Leads from phase to meter terminals.

  13. Making the Connections WattDogs Rear Panel is labeled and color coded for easy installation Ethernet, USB, and SD Card ports are located on the Rear Panel

  14. Review • We have seen • A meter set up as single display with multiple pieces of information • A meter set up as a single display with 1 line of information • A meter with the ability to have multiple screens available for a quick check of measured parameters • The ability to inhibit screens at the meter site and view the measured parameters at a central location • The ability to configure the meter to display any measured parameter • The Choices are yours.

  15. SOFTWAREDO WE NEED IT ? • Any measurement worth making is worth saving • Recording this measured data is key to being able to manage or analyze the obtained results • Equally important is the method used to store the measured results • Just as important is the retrieval of the data and the ability to place it into a report format • The instrument used for storing and reporting results is software

  16. What is WattView Reporter • WattView Reporter is the Utility Software supplied with each WattDog meter • With the Reporter Software the user can: • Setup Information on meter as to its configuration and location • Setup Start Time and Start Date for a recording • Setup Stop Time and Stop Date for a recording • Setup Continuous recording (No stopping time or date) • Generate A detailed report of the measured parameters • Export Data to other data based files for analyzing or billing purposes • View Data in text or graphic formats

  17. WattView Prepare to add a meter to the system library Identify each meters configuration Open to set logging criteria Open to select report writer Welcome to the Home Page. From here you can navigate through this easy to use program

  18. WattView Reporter Meter Inventory • WattView shows: • The meters installed • The location of each • Configuration of each • Other pertinent information Installed Meters Management Information Meter Inventory and Configuration Meters Locations

  19. WattView Reporter Circuit Configuration Circuit Type Circuit usage WattView lists the configuration of the circuit and its location

  20. WattView Reporter Circuit Configure Select location for logging Set the logging interval WattView sets the logging time and location of the meter

  21. WattView Reporter Set Primary Current Set Primary Voltage Set PT Ratio Set CT ratio Setup phase voltage and current as well as PT and CT scaling ratios

  22. WattView Reporter • Here we report the Name of the Job • We set the logging Start Date • We set the logging End Date • The Peak and Off Peak Tariffs are installed • We include Company and Contact Information

  23. WattView Reporter Reports The user can select a wide range of reports with detailed information on parameters chosen at setup

  24. Summary • The Dog Meters (WattDog and PanelDog) are multi-functional products • These meters can be configured to measure any physical parameter • They are capable of being scaled to AC or DC value • They offer a full array of communications • They offer control signals • They represent the next generation in metering devices Remember! The only limit this meter series has, is your imagination
