Federal Executive Board • FEB History • On November 10, 1961, President Kennedy signed Executive Letter establishing Federal Executive Boards (FEB). • FEB Purpose • Federal Executive Board were established to bring the government closer to the people we serve, to help federal agencies be more responsive to local issues, and to serve as a conduit of information from the Executive Office of the President to the federal agencies located outside Washington, DC. The Cleveland Federal Executive Board • Cleveland FEB History • The Cleveland FEB was established in 1966 by President Johnson. • Bureau of Budget (now OMB) and the Civil Service Commission (now OPM) designates NASA as FEB sponsor agency for the Cleveland area (staff and infrastructure) • By-Laws adopted to provide internal governance of FEB. • Mission • The mission of the Cleveland FEB is to unify federal agencies in a manner that better serve the community and federal employees. The Cleveland Federal Executive Board FEB Lines of Business All FEBs will focus on two primary and distinct lines of business. • Emergency Preparedness, Safety and Security of Employees: (COOP Working Groups, 24/7 Emergency Notification, Pandemic Awareness, Safety Fairs) • Human Capital Readiness: (Employee Development, Education & Training, Succession Planning, Awards, Conflict Management, Retirement Planning) • Community Outreach: (CFC, Job Fairs, Tutoring Programs, Awareness Programs) The Cleveland Federal Executive Board
