  1. Senior English 1/13/14 • Write about an interesting idea from BNW. Find it, quote it, comment on it. • What ten letter word starts with g-a-s? • Steatopygic – having excessively fat buttocks. Goals - Gabe, presentation about how he understands the project. Discuss assignment sheet and rubric. Show how shmoop can be helpful. Finding a study to go with the theme. Homework – Annotate Chapters 13-15. I’ll be assigning points tomorrow.Don’t forget to study for quiz #17 Friday.

  2. Senior English 1/14/14 • Write about an interesting idea from BNW ch. 12-15. Find it, quote it, comment on it. • What kind of tree can you find in a kitchen? • Pseudosmia – having a false smell perception. Goals - Begin tying quotes from the book to quotes from the articles. Searching for more articles: check claims, grounds and warrants. Homework – Annotate Chapters 16-18. I’ll be assigning points tomorrow.

Find it, quote it, comment on it. • Where do sheep go to get a haircut? • Geromorphism – looking older than one’s age. Goals – Look at the structure of the essay. Work on intro paragraph. Hook, transition, map. Homework – Complete a hand written intro paragraph for peer review tomorrow. I’ll be assigning points tomorrow.

Don’t write about the book. • How do you spell composition with two letters? • Horripulation – shuddering sensation; as when your hair stands on end or; goose bumps. Goals – Look at the structure of the body paragraph. Peer review the intro paragraphs. Homework – Complete a hand written body paragraph for peer review tomorrow. I’ll be assigning points tomorrow.

  5. Senior English 1/17/14 • Five minutes to study for vocabulary #17. • It’s time to diet if you think gravy is a beverage. • Lethologica – the temporary inability to recall a word or a name. Goals –Complete Vocabulary #17. Peer reviews of body Paragraph or Explanation of closing paragraph. Homework – Get a complete draft of your essay done by Tuesday. I’ll be assigning points Tuesday.
