  2. The Ōnin War (応仁の乱, Ōnin no Ran?) was a civil war that lasted 10 years (1467–1477) during the Muromachi period in Japan.[1] A dispute between Hosokawa Katsumoto and YamanaSōzen escalated into a nationwide war involving the Ashikaga shogunate and a number of daimyo in many regions of Japan. The war initiated the Sengoku jidai, "the Warring States Period". This period was a long, drawn-out struggle for domination by individual daimyo, resulting in a mass power-struggle between the various houses to dominate the whole of Japan. It was during this long period though that there would emerge three individuals who would unite Japan under one rule; they were Oda Nobunaga, ToyotomiHideyoshi, and Tokugawa Ieyasu

  4. The Korean War (25 June 1950 – armistice signed 27 July 1953[28]) was a conventional war between South Korea, supported by the United Nations, and North Korea, supported by the People's Republic of China (PRC), with military material aid from the Soviet Union. The war was a result of the physical division of Korea by an agreement of the victorious Allies at the conclusion of the Pacific War at the end of World War II.
