2. Label your cradles • Every once in a while the RCs need to know who owns a particular cradle. • We made labels for all of the boats and attached them to the cradles. If your cradle is not labeled please do so. There are write on labels available if there is not a existing label in the filing cabinet in the blue shed. Update to the Yard Rules Nov 2009

3. Label your cradles Boat Yard 1.3 A Member who has paid the winter storage fee for a boat may leave the associated cradle or trailer in the Boat Yard during the following summer months, providing that the Club may move such cradles and trailers from time to time without liability for damage thereto. 4. No change just a reminder Harbour 1. Moorings are available on a first come first served basis and shall be identified by the member’s "marked" mooring line. If a member intends to be away for some period of time (10 days), he/she must remove the line so that someone else may use the mooring. Update to the Yard Rules Nov 2009

5. Mooring pennants Harbour 5. All mooring pennants are supplied by the boat owner and MUST be fastened to the top half of the shackle under the float. The rings on top of the floats are not securely fastened. Update to the Yard Rules Nov 2009

6. Pennant Length Our mooring field is too small and we have a problem with moorings that will overlap. We also have problems with boats that wrap their keels around their moorings. Both problems are related to pennants being too long and the wrapping problem will become worse with rope moorings. Update to the Yard Rules Nov 2009

7. Pennant Length Harbour (new paragraph) 6. All mooring pennants are to be secured in such a way that the bow of the boat cannot move more than five feet from the mooring ball. Excessive length pennants are a hazard to your own boat as well as others. Update to the Yard Rules Nov 2009

9. Dockage rules DOCKAGE A limited number of alongside dockage spaces are available for rent by senior members at a cost established in the Annual Budget. Dock space is available to Senior Members only. Seasonal Leases Two berths on the upper end of the upper dock and two berths on the lower end of the lower dock are available for seasonal leases. Seasonal leases are made by prearrangement with the Rear Commodores. Spaces should be clearly marked as reserved for usage giving boat name and owner's name. The Rear Commodores are responsible for determining when the utilization of the docks is low enough in the spring to allow for seasonal leases of the docks to start without disrupting the membership. Normally leases will run from June 1st to September 15th however, under exceptional circumstances, such as a flood causing the launch dates to be pushed later than June 1st the lease may have to be delayed . There is no guarantee that dock rental will be assigned to any member. Update to the Yard Rules Nov 2009

10. Dockage Rules Seasonal leases Members should apply for dock space as early as possible. Members are assigned dock space based on seniority on June 1st. Any remaining dock space will be assigned on a first come first served basis after that date. The fee shall be paid with the annual membership fee and storage fee or immediately after the space is assigned if that assignment takes place later in the fiscal year. Annual rented dock space is guaranteed from June 1 to September 15 for those paying the seasonal fee. Update to the Yard Rules Nov 2009

11. When can I use the docks for free? Temporary Leases Dock space is not free, and unless a dockage fee is paid, boats are not to tie up a dock except in the following cases 1. There are no moorings available. This can be true in late May or early June when boats are launched, and late September or October when they mass for haul out. Normally between mid-June and mid-September there are many moorings available. Update to the Yard Rules Nov 2009

12. When can I use the docks for free? 2. For Repairs. Repairs that are known before launching should be performed before launching, but in cases where it is not possible, or if repairs become necessary after launching, the docks are available to carry out the work. If the repairs do not make the boat inoperable, the boat should be moved to a mooring when the owner or agent is not actively working on the repair. If repairs take longer than three days dock space must be rented. Update to the Yard Rules Nov 2009

13. When can I use the docks for free? 3. Due to failure of a tender. A tender should be repaired or procured before launching, but in cases where neither is possible, the docks may be used for a maximum of three days before arrangements must be made with the Rear Commodores for the leasing of dock space. 14. When can I use the docks for free? 4. For loading and unloading of goods and passengers. This is short-term dock use and open to all members anytime. During peak times it may be necessary to raft boats together. It is not recommended but may be necessary. Any vessel left unattended on the dock may be rafted to if there is no other space available. 15. When can I use the docks for free? 5. Senior Members are allowed to tie up along the docks during the daytime to perform maintenance tasks and to commission and decommission their boats. During busy times rafting should be expected Update to the Yard Rules Nov 2009

16. Last page on docking Special Dock Areas Under normal conditions, the upper space of the lower dock is to be left open for loading and unloading a boat. The lower space of the upper dock is to be left open except when stepping a mast. Unauthorized, extended use of the dock will be charged at the daily rate. Update to the Yard Rules Nov 2009
