Replying to Offers回复学校的入学通知 The Ways of Replying 回复的方式 • Firm Acceptance • 第一志愿 (first / preferred choice, only one) 是排在第一位的，最想去的学校和专业，但是入学要求相对来说可能高一点。只能选择一个第一志愿。 • Insurance Acceptance • 保底志愿 （第二志愿） (back-up choice, only one) 是作为保底的学校，相对第一志愿而言，入学要求可能会低一点。也只能选择一个保底志愿。 Note: you have to choose one as your firm acceptance. However insurance choice is not necessary. 注意：必须要选择一个第一志愿。至于第二志愿，可以选也可以不选。

Four combinations of replies and offers: 在回复页面上，可能出现的几种情况： • Unconditional offer + firm acceptance • 无条件录取通知作为第一志愿 • Conditional offer + firm acceptance • 条件录取通知作为第一志愿 • Conditional offer + firm acceptance conditional offer + insurance acceptance 一个条件录取通知作为第一志愿，另一个作为保底志愿 d) Conditional offer + firm acceptance Unconditional offer + insurance acceptance 条件录取通知作为第一志愿，无条件录取通知作为保底志愿（这种情况不是很多）

Extra Application Deadline: 24, Feb ~ 4, July 申请的截止日期：2月24日至7月4日 Eligibility 申请extra需要符合的条件： • Used all five choices 使用完所有的五个选择 • Decisions have been made by all unis or colleges 而且学校对五个选择都已经作出了决定 • No offers (unsuccessful) 没有收到任何的录取通知书（申请未成功） • Declined all the offers you have received 自己拒绝了所有五个录取通知书 Note: decline offers and add an extra choice, impossible to accept any of original choices later 在拒绝了所有的五个录取通知书，再增加一个extra的选择的情况下，是不可能收到原有的五个选择中任何一个选择的。 Where are the vacancies? 在哪里能找到专业的空位？ Track – course search – course-x

Steps of Applying申请的步骤 • Course search – entry profile 课程搜索 – 入学有关信息 • Contact uni or college 自己和学校联系 • Choose course and enter the details 选择课程，然后填入课程的相关信息 • Ucas send application to uni or college Ucas把学生的申请发给大学 • Application in extra 在extra中找到你的申请 Note: 注意： Choosing a course 选择一个课程 • Considering related or alternative subjects 考虑一下相关的课程 • One choice at a time 一次只能申请一个专业 • To make sure the place is still available before you add it 一定要确认在你申请这个专业的时候，这个专业是有的，并可以获得的。 • Extra choice can not be changed until 21 days have passed 一旦选择了一个专业后，在21天内是不能改变的。

  11. What happens next?接下来怎么做？ If you accept an offer, you can not apply anywhere else. 如果你收到了录取通知书，你就不能再申请另外的专业。 If you decline an offer, or rejected by the uni or college, you can apply for a different choice. 如果你拒绝了录取通知书，或者被学校拒收，那么你可以再申请另外的专业。 If you have not received a decision, you can also apply for a different choice within 21 days of applying to uni or college. 如果你在申请学校专业的21天内没有收到学校的录取通知书的话，你可以申请另外一个专业。 If you don’t get an offer in extra, you can apply through “clearing” process. 如果你没有在extra中得到任何的录取通知书，那么你可以通过“清场”程序申请。

Clearing清场 Application Deadline: 申请截止日期： 16, Aug (Application starting) 8月16日（申请开始） 30, Sep (clearing vacancies search closed) 9月30日 （清场的空位搜索停止) 22, Oct (last date to add a clearing choice) 10月22日 （申请清场的最后一天） Eligibility 申请清场需要符合的条件： • You have not received any offers 你没有收到任何的录取通知书 • You have declined all your offers or not responded by due date 你拒绝了所有的录取通知书或是没有及时地回复学校的录取通知书 • Your offers have not been confirmed because you have not met the conditions 你的录取通知书没有被确认，由于你没有达到学校的入学要求（一般根据CIE的考试情况） • You have declined a changed course, a changed date of entry and / or changed point of entry offer 你已经拒绝了一个含有已变更过的课程，或者一个变更过的入学日期，或者一个变更过的入学的年份的录取通知书 • You applied for one course which has been declined / unsuccessful and you have paid the full application fee - ￡22 for 2012 你自己拒绝了一个专业的录取通知书，或是学校给了申请未成功的决定，而且你已经付了所有专业22英镑的申请费。 • Ucas reveive your application after 30 June, they will not sent it to any unis and colleges. Ucas在6月30日以后收到的申请，都不会寄给任何的学校 Note: single choice and pay a further ￡11 注意：如果原来是一个专业选择的，那么还要在付11英镑的额外费用。 You are allowed to complete an application until 20 September 你可以在9月20日之前完成你的网上申请。

What on Wait List Means to You上了候补名单意味着什么 • 10% or less chance to get in 你有不到10%的机会进入该大学 • Depends on yield rate取决于该大学的拒绝率 • You may need to wait for one more round, or wait until the last round你可能只需要等一轮，也可能需要一直等到最后一轮。 • Wait-listed students who eventually earn admission are often notified in June, but the decisions could dragon through much of the summer.被列入候补名单的学生一般会在6月收到录取决定，但是也有可能会一直等到暑假期间才收到录取决定。

  17. Confirmation Form确认表 • It is time to return the card or fill out the online form to indicate your interest in staying on the wait list. 填写好大学给你的确认表表明你还想继续留在候补名单里。 • Many colleges want an answer on your decision by mid-April.许多大学都需要在4月中旬前收到你的确认表。 • If you are wait-listed by more than one school, you can only pick one.如果你在一所以上大学的候补名单里，请选择其中的一所确认。

  18. What You Should Do你应该怎么做 • Accept another offer, pay the necessary fees and begin taking the steps to secure housing and picking classes. (before May) 从你收到的录取通知中选择相对最适合你的一所，付定金并开始登记宿舍和注册课程。（5月之前） • If the dream school offers you admission later, you can simply notify the other college that you‘ve been accepted off the wait list at Dream University, and you’re no longer planning to attend their school. 如果你理想的大学后来给你发了录取通知，你只需要通知你已经注册的大学你已决定去刚刚被录取的xx大学了。 • You will lose whatever deposit and fees you‘ve paid. 你唯一的损失就是你的定金。

  19. What Can You Do to Promote the Admissions Chances你该怎么做来提高你的录取机会？ • No contact allowed不接受任何形式的联系 • More application materials are preferred鼓励提交更多更新的申请材料

  20. Letter of interest意向信 • express your commitment to the school.State that the college is your No.1 choice in your letter and say you will attend if you are taken off the list.表达你对该校的青睐:该校是你的首选，如果该校录取你，你一定就读。 • In the letter, relay in one short paragraph why the school is a good fit for you, whether it‘s an academic program or an extra-curricular activity, and how you would contribute to the campus community. 在信中用一小段来讲述为什么该校适合你：某个专业，项目或者课外活动，还有你的加入将会对该校有何贡献。 • You can also call and ask if you can interview, especially if you haven‘t interviewed already. Some colleges permit this for students on the wait list. Try to schedule the meeting with the dean of admissions, and make your case directly.如果你还没有被该校面试过，你可以写信或打电话请求一次面试机会。尽量约招生办主任，这样决定回更快更直接。

  23. Denied by Your dream college?被拒了？ • embrace your backup colleges and try to see the positives in them拥抱你的第二选择，积极面对。 • If your second choice school turns out to be a poor fit after a year, you can try to transfer.如果你的第二选择真的不适合你 ，一年后你可以选择转校。

CIE 成绩公布 • 15th Aug, CIE results release 8月15号左右 CIE 官网公布成绩 • Students check results on line 请同学用之前学校已经发给的用户名密码登陆查成绩 • No need to post your results to UK university • 英国大学不用学生自己寄送成绩 • Late Aug: school receive CIE report • 8月底，学校收到CIE成绩单 • CIE Official certificate arrive CIC in October • 10月CIE正式证书将寄送学校，请家长持身份证代为领取

  26. 成绩单寄送申请 • For US & Can, students please request CIE report • 如需寄送成绩单（美国加拿大）， 请同学到教务处领取盖了学校公章的打印件。 • If you need school to post CIE results for you, please request in AAO 需要邮寄成绩单的同学，请到教务处填写申请表格，然后将复印件交予升学办。 • Guidance will post your report within 48hours 升学办将在48小时内（工作日）向大学寄出成绩单 • Please remember to submit your language results too • CIE成绩公布之后，请同学同时完成语言成绩的提交。

  27. 英国签证 UK VISA • UK university will email or post VISA doc and offer letter to you 大学将email或者邮寄签证函给学生 • UK term starts around Oct. there’s limited time. Please get all the other visa application doc ready to wait for university offer letter • 英国大学开学为9月中到10月初，所以签证时间有限，请家长提前准备好其他相关签证文件，坐等签证函。

  28. 入境 entry • Please fly to the nearest city 请飞往里学校最近的城市 • Essential entry doc 入境需要以下文件： - school offer letter 学校签证函/录取通知 - valid passport & visa 有效护照及签证 • There are coaches available 机场出来之后前往机场的大巴中心，做直达大巴去学校 • Before you leave China, please arrange your trip & accommodation 离开中国之前请查清路线。并提前联系好学校宿舍。

  29. 其他注意事项 other notice • Get your children a VISA card 给学生办一个信用卡 • Prepare some Chinese medicine 带一些常用的药物 • Don’t carry too much cash 不要随身携带大量现金 • Arrive in the morning 尽量上午到达

  32. 英国学生签证UK Visa Application • 开始申请签证前1个月存40万到学生名下 deposit RMB400,000 under the name of the student one month before visa application • 签证时间2到3个星期 processing time: 2 ~ 3 weeks • 签证信息网站 please refer to www.vfs-uk-cn.com

  33. 加拿大学生签证 Canadian Student Visa 家长的任务 Parents’ tasks： • 填写表格 Filling forms • 公证材料 Notarizing documents • 提供完整的家庭资金证明文件 Preparing complete documentation of the funds accumulation • 学生签证详细信息及下载申请表可参考加拿大驻华大使馆网站 (please refer to the official website of Canadian embassy for the details and downloading the relevant forms)：http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/china-chine/visas/beijing-pekin/application_kits-trousses_demande.aspx?lang=zh-cn&highlights_file=&left_menu_en=&left_menu_fr=&mission=

  34. 家长需要填写的表格有 forms that parents need to fill： • 1. 家属构成及教育和就业细节表（必须） “Family Composition Information and Details of Education and Employment” form (required) • 2. 代理人表格（如适用） “Use of a Representative” form (if applicable) • 3. 监护声明（如适用） Custodianship Declaration (if applicable)

  35. 家长需要去公证的材料至少包括documents that need to be notarized ： • 孩子的初/高中毕业证书公证the applicant’s graduation certificate of junior and senior high school • 孩子的出生公证notarization of birth for the applicant • 孩子的无犯罪记录公证A notarized copy of No Criminal Activity Certificate • 营业执照公证（若父母为公司股东）A notarized copy of the business registration (If either or both of the parents own a business or part of a business)

  36. 家长需要准备完整的家庭资金证明文件 complete documentation of financial funds that parents need to prepare • 银行存款证明（递交签证前的两个月内开具，建议金额70万人民币以上，存满12个月）certificate of deposit (dated within the last two months showing at least RMB700,000 with a history of at least twelve months) • 对应的银行存单/存折原件 original deposit slips and/or original bank passbooks • 资金来源陈述 a statement of the source of the funds • 单位证明及个税单 Original letters of employment from the current employer of each parent, together with the income tax receipts • 营业执照公证件、企业税单、财务报表及验资报告（如适用）A notarized copy of the business registration, recent tax receipts, audited financial statements and capital verification reports for the most recent fiscal year (if applicable) • 房产证、车辆登记证等（辅助材料） certificates of real estate ownership and vehicle registration (optional)

  37.   38. 申请人（学生）的任务tasks of the applicants： • 填写表格 filling forms • 体检（提交材料之前或等收到使馆的体检通知之后）medical examination (either before submitting the visa application or after receiving the request from the embassy) • 拍签证照片（35mm×45mm，白底、无边框，近六个月内）two photos with white background, no frame and within 6 months before submitting the application • 完成学习计划 complete a study plan • 完成所有中文材料的翻译 translate all the documents that are not in English • 提供学术类文件 provide academic documents

  39. 美国学生签证 US Student Visa • 被大学录取 admitted by a US university • 收到I-20表并核对无误 receive and check the form I-20 from the university • 如约参加签证面谈（多为六七月份） attend the interview in the appointed time (mostly in June/July)

Offer acceptance signed by student 学生签署的接受录取的回执 5. Certification of education background 学历证书 6. Financial documents (suggested proof of financial funds: above RMB 150,000) 资金证明（建议存款15万元人民币以上） 7.   41. To do list for entry (HK) 香港入境事宜 Submit the application of the visa/entry permit at least 6 ~ 8 weeks in advance 至少提前6~8周提交签证/入境许可的申请 upon receipt of the student visalabel, apply for an ‘Exit/entry Permit for Traveling to and fromHong Kongand Macau’ (EEP) and a relevant exit endorsement from the Public Security Bureau office where your household registration is kept 收到签证标签后前往户口所在地的公安局出入境管理部门办理港澳通行证及赴港签注 Stick the visa/entry permit in your passport and EEP, and show them to the border officer when you enter HK. Note: the visa/entry permit is not valid until it is stamped by the border officer. 将签证标签贴在护照及港澳通行证上，并且在入境时向当值官员出示签证/入境许可证，获盖章后，方为有效
