A+ School Grades Test • LEP students with one year or more in the LEP program are included in the writing score calculation. • Schools who increase their mean score in writing earn learning gains. • All LEP and ESE students are included in the reading calculations. • Retainees get learning gains only for improving a level. • Nonretainees in Levels 1 and 2 need at least a one point gain for learning gains. • Level 3 or above students need to stay proficient to earn learning gains. • Math scores account for 25% of the school grade. • The bar for reading and math proficiency has been raised this coming year.
