  5. 120 vs 126 • Normal Path • Take 120, then take 125 • Another Option • If you have previous programming experience you can take 126 (same as 125) and skip 120 • Take the self-exam if you are interested

  6. Grading • Labs 10% • Assignments 30% • Midterm 20% • Final 40% • Unofficial Grades Will Be Available In Gradebook • gradebook.cs.sfu.ca

  7. Labs • Lab Attendance is Mandatory • 10 Labs, 1% of final grade each • Might be 11 in which case lowest grade will be dropped • ½ grade is attending and working • ½ grade based on completion of task • Work with the people around you • First lab on May 16th

  8. Assignments • Four Assignments • Each worth 7.5% of final grade • Primarily programming problems • Will include written problems • To be completed individually • Will be given at least 2 weeks to complete • Solutions will be posted • Paper and electronic submission

  9. Assignments • Late assignments will not be accepted • Work can be done in the labs on campus or on your own computer • Python available at www.python.org/download

  10. CSIL Lab • CSIL Lab: ASB 9838 • Location for your weekly lab • Access card available at the Card Access Office to students registered in a CMPT course • If you registered late, card should be available 2 days after registration • $15 deposit and $3 fee • Open second week of classes
