  3. EARTH SCIENCE • The study of the Earth’s composition, structure, processes. • The study of historical contributions surrounding Earth and Space. • Major topics: planet tectonics, the rock cycle, Earth history, the oceans, the atmosphere, weather and climate, and the solar system.

  4. BIOLOGY • The study of living systems. • The historical background of life processes, cellular organization, mechanisms of inheritance, relationships between organisms, and the change of organisms over time. • An emphasis on validation through scientific research

  5. CHEMISRTY • A study of the interactions of energy and matter. • The use of the scientific method to manipulate chemicals and explore practical applications. • Emphasis on qualitative and quantitative study oh substances, how they change, and the safety precautions surrounding therestudy.

  6. PHYSICS • An emphasis on experimentation, analysis of data, and logical reasoning with the use of mathematics to help build an understanding of physical systems. • Key areas of study: force, motion, kinetic molecular theory, energy transformations, wave phenomena, electromagnetic spectrum, light, electricity, and non-Newtonian physics.
