  2. Qin Dynasty Period The warning states period came to an end when one state became strong enough to beat all rivals. That unbeatable state became known as Qin. In 221 BC, the king decided to unify all of China and become a powerful Emperor to name himself Shi Huangdi which means first emperor. He was an effective ruler that spread his land to most of north and south China. Although he was a successful emperor his was cruel to his people which causes dissatisfaction. When Shi Huangdi died his son, Hu Huisucceded him. But during his rule, he was pretty much worse than the previous emperor. This could of continued until an uprising led by the peasants known as Chen Sheng and Wu Guang.

  3. The loss of the Qin Dynasty In 207 BC, the Qin army and the Chen Sheng and Wu Guanghad a huge battle in the country of China. Apparently the Chen and Wu army defeated the Qin army and swept the capital which marked the end of the Qin Dynasty. The dynasty lasted 15 years. This war in the Qin dynasty was also known as the Chu-Han war which lasted about 4 years. Later this former Qin Dynasty became the possession on Xiang Yu. He also later established this land as the Western Han Dynasty.

  5. Mandate of Heaven The Mandate of heaven was based on four principals: • The right to rule is granted by heaven • There is only one heaven therefore only one ruler • The right to rule is based on the virtue of the ruler • The right to rule is not limited with one dynasty.

  6. Qin Great Wall The Great wall is one of the wonders of the world. This wall was just like a gigantic dragon the wall goes across grasslands, deserts, mountains and plateaus. The wall is 4163 miles from east to west of China.

  7. Achievements • Qin dynasty expanded the empire to the edges of China and held an amazing army up until the rebellion. • Least amount of emperors on a dynasty and defeated mighty armies to become powerful.
