CREAM John Gordon GDB November 2009
CREAM number of sites now – gstat2 says 24. • Batch systems supported • Experiment Tests • Feedback from sites. • Evaluation Criteria

Feedback from Sites • PIC - No problems running CREAM in parallel to lcg-CE. We already have a CREAM CE in production since a while. Ideally, we would like to keep the total number of "CE servers" constant (remove an lcg-CE when we deploy a new CREAM CE) but seems this will be difficult with ATLAS asking for lcg-CEs for one more year. • Swiss T2 – not yet done but see no problem. • KIT - already run several LCG-CEs and CREAM-CEs in parallel and will do so as long this is required by experiments. • RAL – running CREAM now. • UK – Tier2s Already running 2, more in deployment and others planned. • CC-IN2P3 - CREAM: we plan to introduce a BQS-backed CREAM CE (hopefully next week) for testing by ALICE. Some initial tests have been performed with this CE without publishing it in the information system but now we need to perform tests of the whole job submission chain, including the experiment-specific part.Regarding the possibility of running in parallel CREAM and the LCG CEs, we would like to shorten as much as possible the period during which we should maintain both a set of LCG CEs and one set of CREAM CEs, once the CREAM CE is certified by the experiments. We would progressively decommission the LCG CEs once the CREAM is certified by the LHC experiments.
