  3. Purpose • To inform Service members of the entitlement of separation pay. • To Monetarily assist certain involuntary separating members.

  4. Types of Separation Pay • Full Separation pay • Half Separation pay

  5. Full Separation Pay Eligibility • Separation must be involuntary and honorable. • Completed 6 but no more than 20 years of active service. • Completed an initial term of enlistment or period of obligated service.   6. Full Separation pay Eligibility Cont. • Reserve members must have completed 6 years of continuous active service immediately preceding separation. • Agree to Serve 3 years in the Selective Reserve or individual ready reserve. • Advancement and Retention Eligible.

(Under Convenience of the Government Sep) • Separation for Weight control failure. • Parent or custody of minor child.( Non-Compliant Family Care Plan) • Alcohol or Drug abuse rehabilitation failure.
