The Fentanyl Issue As the Fentanyl crisis looms large across the entire country, the City of St. John’s has been at the table, bringing together all the parties with a stake in addressing the issue Working Group includes: police, government, health authorities, front line advocacy and support groups, City staff

  10. The REAL Program Longstanding programs such as the City’s REAL program can be connected to the new initiative. More than 80 youth program providers 26,000 placements

  12. Landlord Engagement: One Story “Make no mistake, we’ve had some nightmares with supportive housing tenants. No system is perfect and some people have greater challenges than others. For a landlord that could mean greater risks, but the organizations working with the tenants have expectations and guidelines for their clients and do their best to give whatever kind of support is needed ... “…the rent is always on time, the organization is there for support and by working with them we’ve gotten to the stage of having buildings with long term compatible tenants. That is a good thing.”

  13. End Homelessness St. John’s A community-led, collective impact Board founded in 2000. Develops & implements the community’s current $8.27M, 2014-2019 plan to prevent & end homelessness. City a founding partner. Funding from all levels of government. Plan is based on ‘Housing First’ principles: providing housing & supports without pre-conditions.

  14. Front Step – Housing & supports Delivered by community partners. Since 2016, Front Step has housed 88 individuals, 84% of whom identify as having mental health issues …like Isabelle

  15. Breaking Down Silos and Isolation The city, as hub, connects our partners through us and to one another in a way that feeds information, ideas, experience, and expertise - not only to us. but to one another. By working this way, we avoid real and artificial silos.
