  2. 2014 Solicitation Details • Solicitation Details • AFA & HSTC involved in required update of Coordinated Plan • Solicitation: August 28 through October 24 • Federal Funding Available: $5.07 million. • Matching Funds required (20% capital; 50% operating) • Outreach • Notice to about 1,200 organizations • Four pre-application conferences • 1 in MD, 1 in VA, 2 in DC

  3. Funded Projects • Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind: Audible maps of key Metrorail stations for people with visual impairments

  4. Funded Projects 2. Northern Virginia Mobility Access Project Fairfax County will lead a multi-jurisdictional effort to increase local collaboration and coordinate services; and train neighborhood groups to provide travel support. Incudes Arlington, Fairfax and Loudoun Counties, and the City of Alexandria

  5. Funded Projects 3. Fairfax County Neighborhood & Community Services – FASTRAN vehicles 5 buses to replace existing vehicles. Vehicles will be used for FASTRAN programs, including transport to Adult Day Health Care and senior centers.

  6. Funded Projects 4. Jewish Council for the Aging Strengthen the “Connect-a-Ride” transportation information program with an improved database and a bi-lingual mobility specialist. Serves Primarily Montgomery County but also Prince George’s, Fairfax and Arlington and D.C.

  7. Funded Projects 5. Jewish Council for the Aging - vehicles 3 buses to replace existing vehicles and preventive maintenance. Vehicles will be used to transport disabled seniors to community-based activities.

  8. Funded Projects 6. Montgomery County Dept. of Health & Human Services Increase coordination between the transportation and human service agencies within the County; Outreach and marketing about existing transportation services and volunteer driver recruitment

  9. Funded Projects 7. Yellow Cab of D.C. 7 wheelchair accessible taxis to expand the rollDC fleet; taxis are available to the general public with priority to customers in wheelchairs

  10. Recommended Projects • ECHOWorks 2 replacement buses. Vehicles will be used to transport adults with developmental disabilities to sheltered workshop sites.

  11. Funded Projects • The Arc of Greater Prince William/INSIGHT, Inc. 6 replacement buses and 1 bus to expand services, plus preventive maintenance and GPS systems. Replacement vehicles will be used for existing programs and new vehicle for vocational work and recreational programs.

  12. Funded Projects • CHI Centers, Inc. 2 replacement buses. Vehicles will be used to serve Adult Day Program and weekly Small Group Recreation participants.

  13. Funded Projects • The Arc of Montgomery County 3 buses to replace existing vehicles. Vehicles will be used for Vocation and Day Services.

  14. Funded Projects • The Arc of Prince George’s County 2 replacement buses and 1 bus to expand services. Vehicles will be used for existing programming and new programs under development with partners.

  15. Funded Projects • Easter Seals DC|MD|VA 1 bus to expand services, plus preventive maintenance. Vehicle will be used for Easter Seals Adult Day Services.

  16. Next Steps • Task Force reconfirms priority projects from Coordinated Plan for next solicitation • Solicitation between August and October 2015 • Federal Funds available: $4 million (FY14 and partial FY15 funds)
